SHREVEPORT, La. - 2008 was a good year for northwest Louisiana. Natural gas was being pumped from the newly explored Haynesville  Shale--turning ordinary people into millionaires overnight. During its peak, more than 100 rigs were operating in the shale. 

But at the start of the decade, the excitement tapered off as gas prices fell from $13 to less than $2--showing there was no longer a big financial gain to be made from the deep gas. By 2011, most of the rigs operating in the shale were gone. 

Although in 2016,  many in the industry are predicting the Haynesville Shale will be popular once again. We talked to three local experts on their prediction of activity in the Haynesville Shale for the upcoming year.  Click here to read more ...
