Brian Upshaw —The Upshaw family has been in the Oil and Gas industry for over three generations. Brian Upshaw, 31, continued this tradition when he decided to enter the industry in 2005 working as an analyst for Royalty Information Systems, Inc. (RIS) — a leading royalty recovery firm. Upshaw was promoted to Executive Vice-President and was later named President of RIS in 2011 where he assisted in the recovery of over $10,000,000 in underpayments for royalty owners. In 2012, Upshaw formed Royalty Management Systems (RMS) where he serves as the company’s President and Chief Executive Officer. In addition to recovering underpayments for royalty owners, RMS provides their clients with a multitude of services including but not limited to, mineral management services, ad valorem tax contesting and missing royalty owner discovery.
